Indonesia Earthquake and Tsunami Appeal

5th October 2018

More than 400 people died instantly when a powerful earthquake and following tsunami struck the island of Sulawesi in Northern Indonesia on Friday 28 September. Since then, the death toll has risen to over 1350 and this is expected to further rise over the coming weeks. Eighteen-foot-high waves crashed into coastal communities sweeping away hundreds of people, devastating roads, tearing out bridges, and crushing homes. Thousands of survivors need your help today.

Can your church help at least 10 people?

Survivors need:

  • Food, especially for babies and children

  • Water

  • Tents

  • Tarpaulins

  • Blankets

  • Medicine

A donation of £30 would provide assistance for at least 2 people in Indonesia. Imagine, if everyone in your congregation were to donate £30 to assist, we could definitely help to raise the target $100,000 (approximately £80,000) along with our partner ADRA offices around the world.

As well as your money, we solicit your prayers for the thousands who are suffering and whose lives have been devastated. The situation, although dire, is no longer headline news and often because of this, our thoughts, prayers and gifts also disappear.

Please support the work of ADRA-UK in assisting the survivors in Indonesia, click the 'donate now' button to contribute or go to our website: www.adra.org.uk. Alternatively, as a congregation, please take up a special collection and send the funds to the ADRA-UK office.
