On Sabbath 30 September, Pastors Simeon Esson and Wilson Lagos, came together at the Greenwich Seventh-day Adventist church for a joint baptism in which three candidates gave their lives to Jesus.

These were [from L-R in picture below] Mary Grace and Jude Chance from Greenwich and Patricio Alfaya Vargas from the South-East London Hispanic Seventh-day Adventist church located at Elephant & Castle.

The baptism marked the climax of a month-long programme entitled 'The Lord is My Shepherd Prophecy and Prosperity Study Series' which was led by Pastor Esson, AC-02296-copyin the Greenwich church during the month of September 2017.

The format of the series included a weekly exposition of Psalm 23 during the family service on Sabbath mornings; teachings on selected doctrines on Sabbath afternoons; and an in-depth study of Daniel 7-9 on Wednesday nights. Pastor Esson did the Sabbath mornings and Wednesday night's sermons and presentations.

Pastor Lagos, was one of the Sabbath afternoon guest presenters ‒ who spoke on the Second Coming of Jesus. Other presenters were South England Conference President, Dr Emmanuel Osei, who dealt with the subject of 'Total Obedience' and Pastor Andrei Balan, who expounded on the subject of the 'State of the Dead'.

In a pre-baptism interview with candidate Sis Mary Grace, whose first contact with the Greenwich church was through Head Deacon Melvin Coy, who is a work colleague of her mother, testified that having taken her decision to be baptised she felt free and liberated to read and study the Bible for herself. She exclaimed, "I have now met the real Jesus who is the real truth that really sets people free."
