Chard, Yeovil, Dorchester and Taunton Day of Fellowship

14th March 2018

On Sabbath 10 March 2018 churches of Taunton, Yeovil, Dorchester and Chard under the pastoral leadership of Deyvid Valente Batista gathered together for a Day of Fellowship at Chard's Town Council Hall. It was well attended by the members of the four churches with more than 30 visitors from the community.

A bunch of Pathfinders and Adventurers in full uniform welcomed the guests and members to the service. Pastor Namushi Namuchana was the guest speaker who talked about the life of Ezekiel and challenged the congregation to live a life like Jesus did. A potluck vegetarian lunch was served which everybody enjoyed. The highlight of the fellowship was in the afternoon when the congregation witnessed the baptism of Joao and Karl to become new members of    C2hard and Taunton churches respectively.

Joao was born in Portugal and came to the UK for work. He met Isidro who is an active member of Chard church plant. They work in the same place and share a house together. Due to Isidro's initiative Joao started Bible studies with him and after a year Joao decided to commit his life to Christ and get baptised.

Karl discovered the Sabbath through his personal study of the Scriptures and by listening to sermons on the internet. He decided to look for a Seventh-day Adventist church near his home in Wellington aand found out about the church in Taunton. Karl was amazed by the hospitality of the people and decided to come regularly and take Bible studies with Pastor Batista. Only after a month in contact with the church, Karl with no hesitation requested to be baptised. Karl invited three of his friends to attend the fellowship who were very happy to have witnessed him committing his life to Christ and his desire to become a member of the local Adventist church.

All enjoyed the whole event. The congregation felt really blessed by the service and rejoiced in welcoming two precious souls who were born again in Christ through baptism.
