About Kirk Thomas
Kirk Thomas, the first of three children, was born in Guyana. At the age of 15 he gave his life to Christ and at the age of 16 he conducted his first evangelistic campaign where seventeen people gave their lives to Jesus and were baptised. He has a passion for the saving of souls and believes that one should work hard at work worth doing and while thinking globally, act locally for the cause of Christ.
It was during these meetings that he felt the call to ministry. As soon as he finished secondary school he entered the world of work, as a human resources officer, to try and save enough money to attend the then Andrews University extension campus, Caribbean Union College, in Trinidad. After three years of working and no money saved, he decided to trust God; borrowed money for a one-way ticket, and was miraculously accepted into the country and college. Kirk now holds a BA in theology and health from Andrews University; a MA in pastoral theology from the Inter-American Division Theological Seminary and is in the final stages of the DMin programme at Andrews University.
Having graduated from the College, in 1994, he began working immediately in the Guyana Conference of SDA as an intern and after three months, he was transferred to the New Amsterdam district. In 1995 he was given a district with ten churches and seven companies. In 1997 he was called to be the Personal ministries, Sabbath school, community ministries and prayer director of the Guyana Conference.
In 2007, Kirk joined the South England Conference (SEC) and pastored the Willesden Adventist Church before being called to serve as the Personal Ministries and Sabbath School director at the SEC.
On the 24 September, 1995, Kirk and the exquisitely charming Carol Roberts were married. This union has produced four God fearing children.
