About Augustus Lawrence
Dr Augustus Cafuema Lawrence is the Family Department Director and has served in pastoral ministry since 1985. He holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Seventh-day Adventist Seminary at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Dr Lawrence graduated from Northern Caribbean University, Jamaica in 1993 with a BA in Theology and subsequently an MA in Pastoral Ministry from Newbold College, England. Dr Lawrence also has an LLB degree and is currently working towards training in Family Systems Therapy.
Dr Lawrence served in the New Life and Holcombe Road district of churches for six years before assuming responsibility for Milton Keynes Central, West Bletchley Community Church and Wolverton district of churches in 2009. In 2014, he was assigned to the Stoke Newington-Stratford and Rainham district of churches until his appointment to his current position. He entered denominational work as a high school graduate in 1985. Before coming to Britain, he worked with the Church in Liberia as a lay pastor for the Saah district and also as principal for the Saah SDA Primary School. A native of Liberia, Dr Lawrence is a multi-skilled man with particular interest in giving attention to supporting family relationships along with his wife Barbara, who is a professional in her own right and who has been active in leading out in various outreach initiatives for the church. They have a son, Nathanael, who is Head Boy at Stanborough School and a keen athlete.
